Bruna Sizilio
My work explores transience and memory through photography and painting. Using techniques such as gumoil printing and the fluidity of watercolour, I investigate the relationship between the visible and the absent. Each piece reflects on time, seeking to capture the ephemeral and transform it into something tangible.
Photography
Through photography and its alternative processes, I explore the erasure of space and time, investigating the dichotomy between absence and presence. Each image is unique, the result of in-depth research and a singular perspective that captures fleeting moments and reveals new insights into transience.
Photography + Watercolour
In another facet of my work, photography meets watercolour. Images are printed on high-quality paper and then manually enhanced with watercolour, adding subtle layers of colour and texture. This process transforms each photograph into a unique artwork, enriching its sensitivity and visual depth.
Watercolour
My watercolours aim to capture the essence of an image through the fluidity of water and paint. Each stain and movement resonates with the transience of existence, exploring the intersection of space, time, and form. The dance of the paint gradually shapes the artwork, creating pieces that reflect both constancy and ephemerality.
Spray/Acrylic
My canvas paintings expand the technique of watercolour beyond paper. Using water-based spray and acrylic paint, I explore hues, transparencies, and layers that lend a unique expressiveness to the images. The result is dynamic and immersive work, blending fluidity and texture to offer a fresh perspective on the pictorial process.
