Los Miaudiablos is an anarcho-satanist Punk Rock band formed in 2015, initially as a trio, with Filipino Fortebomba on guitar and vocals, Tetris Paçoca on bass, and Kitana Ramalama on drums and backing vocals. Years later, they would become a quartet with the arrival of Tomate Nomuerdas as the lead vocalist.

BEGINNINGS
In the band’s early days, they basically rehearsed experimental songs influenced by classic punk rock with touches of 80s gothic rock. In the words of founder Filipino: “we started the band in the city of Atibaia and, since our human had a band and travelled a lot, we began sneaking into the room where the equipment was and played to kill boredom.”

During their first year, the band was treated as a hobby, since, as Filipino explained, the human travelled and left them at home with food, water and clean litter, thinking everything was fine, not realising that felines also need entertainment just like humans. During these solitary stays at home, they also began reading some of the zines and books their human had, becoming deeply interested in anarchist philosophical ideas, which they found matched perfectly with their rebellious and satanic spirits.

CHANGE
The human moved to São Paulo, and so did the band, which continued to play in moments of boredom, but now with the human’s consent, who encouraged them to compose songs instead of just drifting into experimental nonsense. That’s how the first compositions appeared, such as “Autogestión felina” (Feline Self-management), “Minha caixa minha vida” (My Box, My Life), “Não cubro o cocô e sou feliz assim” (I Don’t Cover the Poo and I’m Happy This Way), and in 2016 they recorded their first demo “Derrubei porque sim” (I Knocked It Over Just Because).

This recording circulated through the feline underground scene with a certain success, and they started performing on various rooftops around the Pinheiros neighbourhood. In 2017, the band took a short break from shows due to drummer Kitana’s severe Catnip addiction, which required her to be hospitalised for a while. It is said that Kitana roamed rooftops, destroying neighbouring houses and picking fights with other cats for no reason, even disappearing for 15 days. Upon her return, the decision was made to admit her to treatment.

NEW LINE-UP AND ABSOLUTE SUCCESS
The big turning point came in 2018, when the human decided to marry and move. His wife had a cat who, unbeknownst until then, was the reincarnation of vocalist Darby Crash. When the band met Tomate Nomuerdas, everything changed, as he took over vocals and ended up defining their ultimate style.

Tomate gave a new direction, making the 80s influences (boring as hell) disappear for good, and the band embraced its chaotic and irreverent stance against society, appropriating songs, making versions (stealing) from other bands, and forming a legion of followers worldwide. Los Miaudiablos performed throughout practically the entire feline music circuit in São Paulo and expanded to cities such as Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, even playing at the 15th Xis de Atum Song Festival in the latter city.

During this period, they recorded more than 8 albums, each more impactful than the last. Songs like “Te mato seu ragabundo sialata” (I’ll Kill You, You Raggedy Bastard), “Vomitei a casa toda e não tô nem aí” (I Puked All Over the House and I Don’t Care), “Rasgo lixo por prazer” (I Rip Up Rubbish for Pleasure), “Unha na tua cara” (Claw in Your Face), “Caguei fora da caixa” (I Pooped Outside the Litter Box) were sung in unison at every show, becoming true anarcha-satanist feline movement anthems.

TRAGEDY
In 2022, the band suffered an irreparable rupture with the sudden death of Tomate.

He experienced a vertiginous and mysterious decline in health, attributed to various self-destructive habits. He was deeply addicted to paper balls, dedicating his life to chasing them with no concern for consequences or physical preservation. It was also well known that Tomate enjoyed Catnip, often mixing it with wine and lamb-flavoured sachets, which caused severe hallucinations, to the point of arguing with stuffed mice and climbing apartment nets for no reason.

The band, unable to continue performing without their vocalist, entered a hiatus, with members focusing on their respective solo careers: Filipino with his emo nocturnal lyrical singing project, and Kitana with her advanced massage studies. Tetris, however, never managed to cope with the death of her beloved friend and is said to have surrendered to everyday violence, attacking friends and companions without reason. She is currently undergoing treatment involving daily brushing and therapeutic steam.

REBIRTH?
Currently, the band has been reuniting sporadically for long jam sessions and is in the process of being hired as a backing band for the rising Pop feline singer, Pistache Castlevania.
